When is the best time to visit?
If you're here for WATER ACTIVITIES...
the best time to visit is June and July when the reservoir is at its highest point.
When the water level is highest, there is no sandy beach and only a small rocky shore at the base of our trail.

The rest of the year the lake level varies based on irrigation needs downstream.

At low times, the water's edge can be a bit of a walk from our cabins,
(though this is the best time to come if you are a rockhound or
enjoy exploring and letting your dogs run on a sandy beach!)

The lowest point of the year for lake levels is historically in late October.

Click here to see levels from the past few years as well as current lake levels.

FISHING on the lake is great year-round!

Want to fish from shore?
Come when the water is high!

Want to fish on the water?
Take a complimentary kayak, rent a boat from the marina
or ask us about our preferred fishing guide!

Want to ice-fish?
Plan to come after January 1st/mid-January for frozen lake goodness!

If you're here for the NATURAL BEAUTY...

absolutely anytime is a perfect time to visit!

We suggest late summer and fall for the pleasant weather + foliage
and mid-winter for that perfect snowy escape and xc skiing!
