Unfortunately, we will not be offering horseback rides again this summer 2024.

In the meantime, we are exploring several ideas of how to re-utilize the corral space and potentially offer a new activity or experience.
One activity we have added are E-bike rentals in addition to the watercraft.

Why were horseback rides suspended?
Elk Point leases land from the Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) for the corral. The land we lease is steep and rocky, which is not safe for horses to stay on for an extended period of time.

The BOR was not willing to work with us on leasing a more suitable parcel to keep the horses comfortable. The alternative is to do large scale earth moving work. We are hopeful that with more time we will be able to find a way to improve the corral area and welcome the horses back.

We know how much all of you enjoy the trail rides and the fun western atmosphere that the horses create and we are sad to share this disappointing news.
